Happy Easter!

It's Easter morning! I try to capture some Kodak moments but this is the expression I get from Oliver. So, I give it up and let him enjoy his baskets in peace. :)

Skippie was happy to pose with her Easter treats. E. Bunny was so thoughtful!

I had some heavy bribes going on...unless we took a few minutes for some nice Easter photos to be taken, there would not be a big egg hunt. So, here are our "nice" photos. Oliver is extra handsome when all dressed up.

Later on we went to a friend's house for Easter Lunch. I made some Bunny Cakes ala Betty Crocker. They came out very tiny, were kinda corny, but Oliver loved helping to make them, and they were festive.

On the way home we were greeted with this spectacular Easter Sunset! What a way to end the day!

Easter Week Activites

Earlier in the week, we were invited to a cookie-decorating party. Here are a few of the cookies that Oliver and I created. So colorful and springy!

On Saturday we decided to head over to the park to see what was going on. The Easter Seals and Boy Scouts had a walk-a-thon and Easter Carnival, so we joined the fun. There were unlimited carnival games for the little ones. Oliver had fun trying his hand at the various games. Here, Stand-the-Bottle...(not successful).

A dunking booth! Also unsuccessful, but it was sure fun trying!

What's this? A cow udder? Not only a cow udder...but a GIANT cow udder! Must.Stand.Under.Udder.

Trying to use those muscles! This was NOT an easy game! The hammer weighs more than Oliver! I think Oliver was a "Sick Duck."

Whether a winner or loser, everyone won a treat at each game. Oliver was thrilled with his eye patch. Arggghhh, me hearties!

The Ring Toss. Kinda tricky, but this did not stop Oliver from putting on his game face and aim! Still, no success.

Moving on to the Milk Can Toss. VERY tricky, even for adults. Oliver tried his best but said how very hard it was.

All the games were unsuccessful (even though a treat was acquired for each try), but as Oliver said, "It's not about winning, it's about having fun!" Yes, Oliver, you are right! A little guy that lives by his words.

I talked Oliver into getting his face painted, since it was free. He originally said he wanted a pirate or snake...and when we got there they had a board of small designs to choose from, a pirate and snake included. You know what he picked....the kitty cat :) He certainly does not look thrilled to be having his cheek painted. He was a bit wary.

However, at completion he proudly showed off his facial artwork.

He wore his junior chief hat the nice fireman gave him.

We end our morning with another Easter Bunny sitting. Oliver is totally relaxed on his furry friend.

When we got home we ate lunch then proceeded to get our supplies ready to dye our eggs. I think this look occurs when too many vinegar fumes are sniffed.

We did the traditional egg-dyeing process but tried a couple of fun other methods to get some different looks. We ended up with some pretty eggs with swirls and designs, spots, and stripes. Here are our final products.
